Women's Soccer Hosts Play-Off Game Thursday

The Corning Community College women's soccer team has earned the #4 seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region III Championship Tournament and will host the programs first-ever hoe play-off game on Thursday.  The #4 Red Barons will host #5 Hudson Valley CC on Thursday, October 26 for a 4pm kick-off.  The two teams met on September 16 as Corning travelled to the Capital District.  The Red Barons earned a hard fought 2-0 victory over the Vikings.

Corning is 12-2-1, the most wins in program history, this season and might be the hottest team in all of Region III, winning their last 11-straight games.  Victoria Finn, Emily Smith and Mackenzie Warner have provided much of the offensive power as they have combined for 46 goals.  Morgan Price has been outstanding in the net with a .874 save percentage and a .84 goal against average with 8 shutouts.

The winner of Thursdays game will travel to Genesee CC on Sunday for the Region III Championship and an opportunity to participate in the NJCAA National Tournament on November 9, 10 and 11, hosted by Tompkins Cortland CC.
