Corning CC Improves to 5-1 After Two Road Victories

The Corning Community College Women's Basketball team displayed an impressive performance last week, winning two consecutive road games to elevate their season record to 5-1.

In their first matchup against Erie Community College, the Red Barons secured a solid 60-46 victory. TaylorRae Jones helped lead the offense, scoring 20 points, while Tae Dukes contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Taylor Evans made a significant impact, netting a career-high 11 points, including three timely three-pointers that helped maintain the lead.

Following that, Corning faced SUNY Adirondack, dominating with a 70-21 win. TaylorRae Jones once again shined, scoring another 20 points, while Tae Dukes improved her performance with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Cherish Maglio added to the team's success with 10 points in this contest. Additionally, Lily Hancock set a personal best by grabbing 8 rebounds during the game.

The Red Barons' defense has been a key factor in their success, limiting their opponents to a combined 67 points over both games, while they outscored Erie CC and SUNY Adirondack 130-67 throughout the week.

Corning will take a break before returning to action against D2 SUNY Niagara on Wednesday, December 4th, before wrapping up their 1st semester schedule at North Country CC on December 6th.
