Red Barons Outlast SUNY Broome: Start Season 3-0

On November 13, 2024, the Corning Men's Basketball moved to 3-0 as the team picked up a home victory against MSAC rival Broome Community College with a final score of 77-67. The Red Barons defensive pressure forced double digit turnovers, leading to a series of transition points which would be the difference maker.

Freshman, Sincere Smith, provided a much needed spark off the bench, finishing with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 assists. His efficiency in transition was complemented by DeCoursey Corley, who recorded a double double, finishing with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals. Siyani Arthur continued his double digit scoring streak, recording 11 points and 4 rebounds while Cassius Moore chipped in 10 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Sean Paige contributed 5 points and 8 rebounds (6 offensive).

Early in the first half, the Red Barons turned to relentless ball pressure which opened up a lead that they would never give up. Coach Sugamosto stated "our pressure was the difference maker in this game. We turned turnovers into simple finishes in transition which increased the lead at crucial moments in the game.:
