SUNY Corning Wins The Region III Championships

The Red Baron women's cross-country team punched their ticket to nationals after winning the Region III Championships hosted by Finger Lakes. Brittany Sanguinito finished in 5th place overall with a time of 23:11:56 while Cameron Mushock crossed the line at 23:39:08 placing 6th overall for the team. Elanor Gehl finished 11th (25:00:02), Morgan Sherman placed 16th (26:33:17), and Mary Townson came in at 23rd overall (29:03:53) all five runners scored for the Red Barons earning them 1st place with 37 points, five points clear of the second place team Hudson Valley. Anna Lares finished with a time of 29:28:50 good for 25th and Hali Gunderman crossed the line at 34:38:50 finishing in 35th place. 

SUNY CCC has had an outstanding season so far as they won the Mid-State Athletic Conference championship a week prior to winning the NJCAA Region III championship.

Women's cross-country coach Rebecca Copp earned NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year honors to go with her Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year award for the teams achievements this season.

The Red Barons head to Holyoke CC in Massachusetts to compete in the National Championship on November 2nd, 2019 wth the men's race taking place at 11 am and the women's race taking place at 11:45 am.
