The Corning Community College women's cross country team had another great race at the NJCAA Region III XC Championship meet. Katherine Hallinan placed 5th overall with a time of 23:16 and Anna Lares placed 10th with a time of 25:07. Hallinan and Lares were both named to the All-Region III Team and will now head to the NJCAA National Meet in Westfield, MA on Saturday, November 3rd.

Clare Charboneau (15th place, 26:40) and Madison Krezenski (22nd place, 29:51) both had strong finishes and season personal record times for the Red Barons in the regional meet.

The women's cross-country team is coached by Becky Copp who was the last Corning Community College runner to qualify and compete in the national tournament for the Red Barons. She accomplished this feat in two straight years, traveling to the national championship meet in 2000 and 2001. She has led the team back to nationals in her first year as the women's cross-country coach which is also the first year Corning has had a program since Becky was a student-athlete.
