Red Barons Hire Saige Hupman As Women's Volleyball Head Coach

Saige Hupman has been hired as the new head coach of the women's volleyball team for SUNY Corning Community College.

Hupman's coaching experience ranges from high school travel clubs to collegiate volleyball:

In 2016 and '17 she served as a volunteer coach for the Edge travel club (girls 16u & 17u). Hupman volunteered during SUNY Broome's 2018 and 2019 seasons, and in 2021 moved up to the associate coach position. Later that year and into '22 Hupman was a volunteer coach for the New Penn travel club (boys 18u). After relocating to Corning, NY Hupman spent the 2022-23 seasons volunteering with the Elmira College women's and men's programs.

New coach Saige Hupman had this to say about accepting the position, "As a lifelong resident of the Southern Tier, I am grateful and excited to accept the head coach position of SUNY Corning Community College's women's volleyball program. I have made wonderful and lasting connections in our community since my early days as a player and coach. I hope to encourage SUNY CCC's student athletes to grow as individuals and cultivate a passion for the sport to carry with them in their futures."

SUNY CCC Director of Athletics Isaac Bushey on the hire of Coach Hupman, "Anytime you can hire a coach with direct community college playing and coaching experience it is a major plus. When discussing the culture Coach Hupman wants to provide the women's volleyball program, we both realized that it was a great fit with the athletic department and college's values. We are very excited to have her with us and cannot wait for her to get started!"
