Red Barons Make MSAC Final Four

The Red Barons Volleyball team came up short in the semi-finals match of the MSAC Conference tournament versus Jefferson Community College on Sunday, October 27. SUNY Corning fell to the Cannoneers with scores of 25-27, 11-25, and 17-25.

Sophomore middle hitter, Autumn Edwards led the way for the Red Barons with 6 kills, while teammate's Megan Brown, Lauren Ball, and Shelby Sherman combined for 13 kills. Emilie Cole was solid defensively with 9 digs, while Emily Saltsman and Sherman each added 7 digs.

Although the Red Barons were eliminated in the semi-finals, two team members were recognized for their efforts this season. Freshman rightside hitter, Shelby Sherman and freshman libero, Emily Saltsman were both named to the 2019 MSAC All-Conference team.

SUNY Corning travels to Niagara County Community College this weekend for the NJCAA Region III Tournament. Game times for Corning on Saturday, November 2 are approximately 10am versus SUNY Broome, 1:30pm versus Monroe Community College, and 3pm versus SUNY Adirondack or Mohawk Valley Community College.
