Coach Leach Returns As Head Women's Soccer Coach

Kyle Leach returns to SUNY CCC to coach women's soccer for his second stint after previously coaching for the Red Barons for 6 seasons. Leach led Corning to a 34-30 record from 2015 to 2019 (2020 Covid), guiding the Red Barons to three straight regional playoff berths from 2017 to 2019 including two first round home matches.

The women's soccer program had a three year stretch where the Red Barons went 25-16-3, his 2017 team set a school record for most wins in a season and best record going 12-3-1 while also winning the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Leaches teams were filled with recruited talent, as his student-athletes collected all-conference and NJCAA All-Region III honors. In 2018, Kerene Johnson was named MSAC Player of the Year as she led the team with 21 goals.

Kyle Leach had this to say about his return to the sidelines "Returning to SUNY CCC was more than a chance to return to the college ranks. It was about coming back to a place that had given me so much in my previous six coaching seasons. The chance to continue to build from where we left off, but also return to the sidelines at a place that has always been welcoming to me and my family. A place that even during my hiatus would check in, and see how my family and I were. Those are the programs you want to coach for, and continue to build. So now comes the task of putting CCC Women's soccer back on the map."

Director of Athletics, Isaac Bushey adds "Having Kyle return will certainly help our women's soccer program right away and moving forward, he is a tireless recruiter and a coach with a passion for his student-athletes and soccer. The transition back into the department will be a smooth one for Coach Leach and we are looking forward to seeing him on the sidelines and his family on-campus again. He was a big part of the Red Barons family in the past and we are very excited he is back on Spencer Hill again."
