Women Improve to 2-0 on the Season with a Win Over Columbia Greene CC

The Corning women's soccer team came out with a 3-1 victory as they hosted Columbia Greene CC on Saturday afternoon.  Freshman Hannah Morse scored for Corning six minutes into the match on an assist from Jacolbi Miller.  Morse beat the keeper in the far low corner after receiving a perfect cross from Miller.  Morse gave Corning the 2-0 lead 9 minutes before the half as she scored unassisted.  The CGCC Twins would not roll over and stayed aggressive, finally scoring in the 79th minute.  Maggie Ryan made a strong move to the middle and buried a breakaway attempt into the back of the net.  With less than two minutes remaining in the match, Morse was taken down in the box and Corning was awarded a penalty kick.  Taylor Gray came out of the Corning goal to execute the PK sealing the Red Barons win.  Gray finished with 12 saves in goal.

Corning hosts Genesee CC on Wednesday in a women's/men's doubleheader.
