Bushey Will Take Over Women's Basketball Program

Coach Isaac Bushey will take over the women's basketball program, replacing former head coach Mike Wright, who has over 35 years of coaching experience at the high school and college level.

Mike Wright was the head coach of the Women's Basketball program for 8 seasons while accumulating an overall record of 79-83. At Corning, Wright has coached ten MSAC All-Conference players, five NJCAA All-Region players, one MSAC Player of the Year (Amber Edwards) and one NJCAA All-American (Amber Edwards.)

Bushey will move to the women's program after a 9 year run as the head men's basketball coach. During his tenure, SUNY Corning CC has accumulated a record of 131-77 with two Mid-State Athletic Conference regular season titles, one MSAC Tournament title, multiple national rankings, and has reached the NJCAA DIII Region III Tournament every season, including four Final Four appearances. In the last 9 years (8 seasons), the Red Barons have had two 1,000 point scorers (Sayquan Chambers & Christian Simmons), 17 All-MSAC Team selections, 10 named to NJCAA DIII Region III All-Region teams, two Mid-State Conference Players of the Year (Sayquan Chambers & Christian Simmons) , and one NJCAA DIII All-American (Christian Simmons.) Coach Bushey was named the Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year twice and the NJCAA DIII Region III Coach of the Year once.
