Corning Falls to Rock Valley

Corning Falls to Rock Valley

Corning ran into a buzz saw in Rock Valley CC and dropped an 8-0 decision Friday at the NJCAA National Tournament.  In a matchup between the #1 and #2 teams in the nation, RVCC flexed its muscle and showed why they are the six-time defending National Champs.  The Golden Eagles held the Barons to one hit, courtesy of Lexi Wood, and scored four runs in the bottom of the 6th to seal a trip to the National Championship Game.  Jayden Hill took her first loss of the season as she allowed 6 hits, 3 earned runs and struck out 3.  With the loss, Corning will compete in the loser's bracket finals later in the day against the winner of the Herkimer/RCSJ Gloucester game.  The winner will advance and face Rock Valley for the 2021 NJCAA National Championship crown.
