The SUNY Corning Community College softball team travelled to Genesee CC Tuesday and swept their hosts by scored of 13-0 and 13-0.
In game one, Grace Vondracek went 3 for 3 with a double and 5 RBI's while Lexi Wood was also a perfect 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Kiarah Grover was 3 for 4, Becca Velasco went 2 for 3 and Jill Murray was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's. In the circle, Emily McCreery picked up her 8th win of the season as she tossed a four-hitter with 7 strikeouts.
In game two, Corning had big 2nd and 3rd innings as they posted 6 runs in each frame enroute to another 13-0 win. Vondracek stayed hot at the plate going 3 for 3 again adding 2 RBI's and a triple. Grover was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI's, Murray was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's and Siobhan Stone went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's. Jayden Hill picked up her 8th win of the season as she threw a no-hit 12 strikeout game.
Corning meets Jefferson CC on Saturday (away) and Sunday (home) in key MSAC (Mid-State Athletic Conference) contests. First pitch is slated for 1pm both days.
