The Red Barons softball team swept a pair of games over the visiting Lakers of Finger Lakes CC on a cold and rainy day by scores of 10-2 and 14-0. Leigha Jones had the hot stick for Corning as she went 6 for 7 on the day with 2 doubles, a triple and a HR, collecting 7 RBI's. Freshman Ericka Pierce was 2 for 3 in game two with 2 RBI's and Alexa Hayes was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's. Ryleigh Hancock blasted her first collegiate homerun and added 3 RBI's in game two. Laura Burrell earned the game on win allowing 3 hits and Rhilea Chabot got the "W" in game two, hurling the 4-hit shutout with 6 strikeouts.
Corning travels to Broome CC on Thursday for a pivotal MSAC and Region III match-up.
