Rodriguez Commits to Red Barons Softball

Softball player Faith Rodriguez of Bronx, New York has signed her NJCAA National Letter of Intent to attend Corning Community College and play softball for the Red Barons in the Fall of 2019.  Rodriguez, a standout at Pelham Preperatory Academy, was selected to participate in the Battle of the Bronx Tournament at the conclusion of her junior season.  She hit .447 with a .563 on-base percentage.  Rodriguez shows a lot of promise as a collegiate player.  "Faith is a true competitor.  She possesses strength, speed, athleticism and a very high softball IQ, " stated CCC head softball coach Stacy Johnson.  "She puts in work in the off-season and is just a bulldog.  She will do well here and I'm excited to see her game grow and the impact she could have on the team."

Rodriguez competes for the Lady Fury based out of the GameOn13 softball training facility in Elmsford, New York.  "Working from that facility and with Coach Eric Holtz, I know she is fundamentally and mentally prepared to play at this level", said Johnson.  Rodriguez is thrilled with her decision and can't wait to wear the Red and Black at Corning. "From the first time I stepped on campus last June, I felt comfortable and right at home.  I knew Corning was the place for me and I'm so excited to see what the next two years will bring for me and my team.   I'm proud call myself a Red Baron."
