The Red Barons XC team traveled to the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo for the Mike Woods Invitational on Saturday, October 14th 2024. This invite marked the end of the regular season for the team and was by far the largest with 371 runners in total. Many SUNY DIII programs and out of state DIII programers were in attendance, as well as local MSAC competitor FLCC.

It was a cold and rainy morning on the open field 8k course in Geneseo. Hayden Allington ran a great, consistent race that finished with a strong kick to the finish. Allington finished the race in 27:45.6 and placed a very respectable 242nd. Allington beat his previous PR of 27:55.7, that was run three weeks ago at the Harry F. Anderson Invite.

Allington finishes the regular season strong and looks to continue the momentum as he heads into the championship portion of the season. "I am very pleased with the PR and I'm looking forward to the postseason" Allington stated after finishing the meet. Coach Casey Swartz added that "Things are clicking at the right moments. Hayden had a spectacular regular season and I'm looking forward to seeing what he'll do at these championship meets. He's a special and talented runner."

The CCC Red Baron's XC team will be hosting the Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship meet next week, October 21, at The Y at Watson Woods in Painted Post. Women will begin at 10 am, followed by the men at 10:45 am.
