The CCC Red Baron's cross country team traveled to Brockport for the Tom Balon Alumni Classic for the second meet of the season. Teams that attended the meet included Ithaca, Fredonia, Mansfield, Oswego, the host Brockport, and MSAC competitor Finger Lakes Community College.

It was a rainy morning on a 2500m looped course that was mostly grassy terrain and some rolling hills.  JT Frawley finished the 5k with a personal best time of 28:45.1. Hayden Allington finished 38th out of a 87 runner field and was the lead runner for the Red Baron's with a time of 17:25.8. Dylan James was unable to finish the race due to injury.

Coach Casey Swartz was "overall pretty pleased with the end results of the meet." Swartz stated that "our newer runners (JT and Dylan) are still learning to adjust to competing in cross country for the first time and I was happy with how Hayden raced and reacted to certain periods throughout the race." 

The 5k concluded the short course portion of the season and the Red Baron's will now begin racing 8k courses as they travel to the Bruce Bridgeman Invitational meet at Finger Lakes Community College next week on 9/16.
