The SUNY Corning Community College men's cross country team, and Head Coach Dr. Matt Skerritt, had an outstanding season this Fall.  With the pandemic looming large, Region III leadership developed a plan to allow it's student athletes to compete in the sport of Cross Country, with some modifications, safely and successfully.  Saturday, October 31 was the culmination of the 2020 season as Finger Lakes CC hosted the NJCAA Region III Championship meet.

The Red Barons finished as the NJCAA Region III Runners-Up, tying with Broome CC for this honor.  This is the highest Regional finish the men's program has had since it was reinstated two seasons ago.  Hayden Belanger led the way once again as he finished 6th overall with 5:58 pace on the day.  Brody Hayes-Glick was the second Red Baron to cross the finish line in 7th place with a 5:59 pace.  Teammates Dennis Pierce (12th place), Hadden Crawford (15th place), Kyle Davenport (19th place) and Clint Craven (25th place) all had a strong showing.  Belanger and Glick were both named to the All-Region III team for their performance Saturday.  The Corning men won two of the six races they competed in this fall.
