Bryce Johnson Signs with Red Barons Bowling

Corning Community College and the men's bowling program is pleased to announce the signing of Bryce Johnson from Penn Yan Academy for the 2017 recruiting class.

Bryce comes to the program as a four-year varsity bowler and two-time 1st team Finger Lakes all-conference bowler.  He was a member of the 2016 Section V all-star team. When asked about Corning CC, Bryce stated; "I am very excited to be attending Corning and being part of the bowling program.  I think my skills and values will help the team and it will give me a chance to grow as an individual and as a bowler.  I am excited to see where it takes me because becoming a professional is not out of my mind for a possibility after college.  Also, I am looking froward to pursuing my degree in law enforcement because Corning has a very good programs ad I can be done in two years and the workforce in my field.  I am very excited and can't wait to start the next chapter of my life at Corning."

Bryce also led his teammates to 3 Finger Lakes East league championships and the 2017 Section V Class C championship.  Penn Yan high school coach, Mindy Johnson shared; "Bryce has played a pivotal role in our success as a  team over his years at PYA.  He also has excelled individually with high series and high average honors for the Finger Lakes League this past season and also being named to the 2016 All-Greater Rochester team.  He will be sorely missed but I know that he will  become a leader and role-model for his teammates at Corning.  There are a few kids who come through a program like ours who really make an everlasting mark, Bryce is on of those students."  Red Barons bowling coach, Ben Smith added: "Bryce being an honor student and scholar athlete will be a welcomed addition to our program.  I look forward to working with Bryce to continue his accomplishments both on the lanes in the classroom."
