Red Barons Snap 4 Game Skid With Upset Wins Over Herkimer and #12 Fulton-Montgomery

The Red Barons had their backs against the wall, due in large part to a 4 game losing streak, before they defeated perennial powerhouse Herkimer College at home, 61-59. SUNY CCC turned around and traveled to Gloversville, NY to take on #12 ranked Fulton-Montgomery CC with the Red Barons prevailing 92-79.

Against Herkimer, the Red Barons overcame a 9 point deficit holding the Generals to 3 total points over the last 6 minutes of play. Xavier Hill and Cameron Rhode combined for 44 of the Red Barons 61 points while Freshman Marcus Reed provided strong and timely baskets late in the second half leading to a narrow victory.

The confidence from a win vs Herkimer College, helped the Red Barons take down the #12 FMCC Raiders on the road the following day. SUNY CCC shot a blistering 52% from the field, 48% from 3, and 89% from the Free Throw Line. The Red Barons shared the ball and set a season high for assists with 15 in the game. Xavier Hill scored a career high 35 points to go with his 14 rebounds, both game highs. The Red Barons had four total players score in double digits with Dwight Reed (19 points) Cameron Rhode (15 points) and Papa (12 points, 4 3pt FGs) adding to the Red Barons offensive production.
