Corning Starts Second Semester with Two Straight Wins

The Red Barons Men's Basketball team came back from the semester break and continued their winning ways by defeating Columbia-Greene CC and Jefferson CC on Wayne Kenner Court.

Against Columbia-Greene Corning's defense was very stingy in the first half holding the Twins to 18 points while scoring 39 themselves. The 20 point halftime lead propelled the team to victory over Columbia-Greene, Cameron Rhode scored 18 points with 9 rebounds while and Xavier Hill scored 16 points and record 15 rebounds.

The Red Barons next game against Jefferson CC was a close affair with Corning sneaking out a 70-66 victory. Defensive intensity lead the Red Barons to victory as they held the Cannoneers to a 37 field goal percentage. Sophomore Dwight Reed was the game high scorer with 24 points including 4 makes from beyond the arc and Xavier Hill recorded his second straight double double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
