SUNY Corning Sweep Weekend Games On Kenner Court

The SUNY CCC Men's Basketball team extended their winning streak to three games with victories over SUNY Adirondack and Hudson Valley at home this past weekend, they are now 4-1 in NJCAA Region III play.

On Saturday, the Red Barons jumped out to a 25-7 lead over SUNY Adirondack over the first 7 minutes and never looked back. Cruising to a 98-60 NJCAA Region III victory. Elmira HS products Bryce Smith (18 points and 8 rebounds), Cameron Rhode (10 points and two 3's), and Markel Jenkins (11 points and 6 rebounds) led the way for the Red Barons in the victory. Thirteen players scored for the Red Barons and the 98 points scored was their highest offensive output of the season.

On Sunday, SUNY CCC raced out to a double digit lead over the course of the first half, however, a late surge by Hudson Valley cut the deficit to 6 points at halftime. Both teams battled back and forth over the course of the second half, however, the Red Barons never relinquished the lead and won by a score of 84-79. Damont Hanton led the way for the team with 19 points including 8 points over the course of the last three minutes to help effectively put the game out of reach. Bryce Smith scored 14 points and hauled in a career high 16 rebounds while sophomore Andre Starks made three 3's scoring a total of 13 points. SUNY Corning's bench contributed 30 points which helped them secure the victory.

The Red Barons travel to Columbia-Greene CC on Sunday, December 5th which will be their last game of the semester.
