Men's Basketball Defeats FLCC In MSAC Semi-Finals; Simmons POY

The Red Barons hung on to defeat the Lakers at Onondaga CC 67-65 after building a 19 point lead in the second half. Corning built a 13 point lead heading into halftime and extended it to 19 points before Finger Lakes started a furious comeback that the Red Barons were barely able to handle. Christian Simmons scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while Tamar Jackson played his best game of the season contributing 15 points going 6-8 from the field.

Christian Simmons, Jon Ward, and Elijah Ramadhan were selected to the MSAC All-Conference team by the coaches in the conference. Simmons was also named Player of the Year in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. He averages 23.8 points/game and 10.6 reb/game while shooting 57.6 % from the field including 37.5% from 3. Jon Ward contributed 12.7 points/game, 7.8 reb/game, and 3.1 blocks/game while shooting 55% from the field. Lastly, Elijah Ramadhan totaled 11.5 points/game, 7 reb/game, 4 assists/game, and 2 steals/game for the Red Barons.
