Red Barons Improve to 9-6 Overall

The Red Barons men's basketball team went 2-1 last week with home wins over Tompkins-Cortland CC and Jefferson CC, and a loss to Finger Lakes CC on the road.

Against Tompkins-Cortland, Corning never trailed and went on to win 116-74. All 10 players scored with 6 players reaching double figures. James Clarke stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Colin Cornish came off the bench and hit a pair of three's for the Red Barons as well.

At Finger Lakes, the Red Barons held a 48-43 point lead heading into halftime. In the second stanza the Corning offense cooled off from the 13 minute mark to the 5 minute mark, scoring only 6 points in that time frame, which allowed the Lakers to grab their first lead of the game which they would not relinquish as the final score was 88-83 FLCC. The Red Barons were led by Raequan Scott's 17 points including 5 triples, Tamar Jackson had another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Jefferson came to Wayne Kenner court for the last contest of the week and the Red Barons led from start to finish, outscoring Jefferson 25-9 in the first 4 minutes of the game and they did not look back with a final score of 100-74. Christian Simmons scored a team high 23 points, 19 of them coming in the first half, while pulling in 13 rebounds. RaeQuan Scott, Isaiah jennings, Jon Ward, and Tamar Jackson all scored in double figures for Corning.
