Corning Drops Both in Doubleheader
Game 1
SUNY CCC watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 23-4 loss on Monday.
 
Erie opened up the game in the first , scoring seven runs on five hits. The Red Barons scored three runs in the fourth inning but it was a little too late.  
 
Stevens earned the win for Erie, throwing three innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out six. Short got the loss for the Red Barons going two thirds of an inning allowing seven runs on five hits. 
 
Brocklebank and Chrisman all had one hit to lead Corning while Pagano led the Kats with five hits in five at bats. 
 
Game 2
Erie's offense started early, scoring four runs in the first inning. Erie would add three more in the fourth and five more in the sixth to finish their 12 run game. Corning's lone run came in the sixth when Calvin Rogers hit a double in the gap and scored Alex Chrisman
 
Lynch got the win for the Kats allowing only five hits and striking out eight. House got the loss for Corning giving up seven runs on six hits over three and a third innings. 
 
Corning totaled seven hits, six of them coming from Rogers, Chrisman and Sam Brocklebank who each had two hits. 
 
Corning will resume play at home against Onondaga Community College at 2:00pm.
