Corning Community College Baseball is Back!

Game 1 Niagara

After a year hiatus the Corning Community College baseball team was back in action against #7 Niagara County Community College.

Corning fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-1 loss on Friday. Niagara got on the board in the first inning when Stillinger singled and scored one run. Niagara scored 4 in the 3rd and then had another big inning in the fourth scoring seven runs on six hits to complete their twelve run game. 

Corning's lone run of the game came in the fifth. Kevin House had a one out double which was the lone hit of the game. House would eventually come around to score on a passed ball. 

Nelson was on the mound for Corning. allowing eleven  hits and eight runs over three innings. 

Balin Clark came in from the bullpen allowing only 1 hit and no runs in his inning of relief. 

 

Game 2

Corning watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 15-1 loss on Friday. Corning got an early lead with a lead off single by Alex Chrisman. A fly ball by Calvin Rogers moved Chrisman to third and a sac fly by Zack Nelson would eventually bring Chrisman in for Corning's lone run of the game. 

Niagara then would score five runs in the bottom of first and would never look back. Niagara then scored 9 in the second and another lone run in the bottom of the fourth to cap off their 15 run game. 

Short was on the bump for Corning allowing 11 hits and 14 runs only 6 earned in one and  two thirds innings. Collin Coots came in relief throwing two thirds innings allowing only two hits and one run. 

 

Corning is back in action Sunday 12 P.M vs Niagara for their official home opener.
