Red Barons Triumph Over Kats 4-3

The Red Barons baseball team played spoilers to a second team in a row as they took game 1 vs the Erie CC Kats who are firmly in the playoff hunt. Tanner Kizis started the game and had an excellent outing before giving way to Matt Clute after three and a quarter innings.

Nate Chorney relieved Clute and earned the win in a 4-3 comback victory for the Red Barons. the three pitchers combined for 5k's, allowed 9 hits, and gave up 3 earned runs in route to the win.

On the offensive side the Red Barons powered their way to 12 hits and four total RBI's, however, in a low scoring game runs were at a premium. The Red Barons executed two suicide squeezes by Jake Freeland and Sam Polanco that earned the Red Barons their 3rd and 4th runs of the game as they held on for the victory in the top of the 7th thanks to a solid defensive showing.
