Red Barons Sweep Cayuga

The Red Barons Baseball team started their season off their season taking both games on the road versus Cayuga CC. In game 1, a SUNY CCC win by a score of 8-3, freshman pitcher, Kevin Serrano (Miami, FL) threw a complete game for his first collegiate win on the mound. Serrano threw 7 innings, striking out 3 batters, while giving up only 6 hits and 3 earned runs. He had plenty offense to support him as freshman Zack Wood (Elmira, NY) led the charge as he collected 3 hits and added and RBI.

 

In game 2, the bats for the Red Barons came alive as they claimed another victory by the score of 15-12 against the Spartans. Wood again led the charge as he collected 4 hits including 2 doubles while adding 3 RBIs. Ryess Youmans (Pine City, NY) and Tanner Kizis (Corning, NY) each had 3 hits apiece, Youmans added 3 RBIs and Kizis tacked on 2 RBIs to help lead the offense in a winning effort. The team utilized 6 different pitchers in the contest which led to Kizis picking up his first college W and Aaron Lane (Athens, PA) came in to earn his first collegiate save.

 

The Red Barons take on the Tompkins-Cortland CC Panthers in a single 9 inning game on Wednesday March 24th in their home opener.
