SUNY CCC Takes Down Nationally Ranked Niagara

The SUNY Corning CC Baseball team defeated #4 ranked Niagara County CC 8-7 after facing a 7-0 deficit going into the bottom of the 5th inning. The Corning bats erupted for 8 runs in two innings before a double play turned by Victor Torres and an out provided by centerfielder Josh Updyke ended the game and completing the comeback for the Red Barons. Nate Caughell earned the win on the mound as he provided 4 innings of 2 hit baseball while walking just one batter. Torres went 3-4 on the day scoring 2 runs and contributing an RBI as well. Parker May and Zach Turner took advantage of the runners who reached base as they both recorded 2 RBIs a piece. Peyton Parmeter, Heldon Ramos, and Paden Burlison also provided clutch hits that drove in runs while Chris McKibben reached base and scoed twice.
