SUNY Corning Community College Splits With Cayuga

The SUNY Corning Community College baseball team started off their 2019 campaign with a victory in Game 1 over Cayuga CC, 9-8. Freshman pitcher Chris Caughell was solid on the mound going 6.1 innings giving up only 4 earned runs while walking zero batters. Victor Torres and Parker May both had triples while Garret Socola hit an RBI double off the left field field for the Red Barons. Zach Turner had two RBI's, while Shane Conlon, Socola and May contributed an RBI apiece in the game.

In game 2, the Cayuga pitcher was very sharp as he threw 5 innings of 3 hit baseball in the victory. Heldon Ramos threw very well for Corning in his freshman debut going for 4 innings with 6 strikeouts. Zach Turner had two hits in the game with the lone RBI for the Red Barons as he drove in Victor Torres who hit another triple and scored the only run for Corning.
