Baseball Drops Three of Four to Erie CC

The Corning baseball team had a four-game series with Erie CC this week and dropped three of the four games to the Katz. 

At home on Saturday, Corning won game one 2-1 with Donovan Arroyo getting the win on the mound for the Red Barons.  Hector Vargas had an RBI and Philip Derick had Corning's only other hit.  Game two saw Erie win 9-2 with Mario Caraballo taking the loss.  Junior Jimenez was 2 for 4 with a double and Dominc Teoli was 2 for 3. 

Sunday at Erie, Corning dropped both ends of the doubleheader 6-0 and 13-4.  Teoli took the loss in game one and Vargas was the losing pitcher in game two.  Curtis Pierce recorded both of Corning's hits in game one.  In the nightcap, Jimenez, Derik and Braxton Ramirez each had hits for Corning. 

The Red Barons travel to Genesee CC on Tuesday for a 2pm doubleheader.
