Cross-Country Returning for the Red Barons in Fall 2018

The Corning Community College Athletics Department will add Men's and Women's Cross Country to its list of sports teams, bringing the number of teams at CCC to 11. Starting Fall 2018, both Red Barons teams will begin intercollegiate competition in the sport.

"Now is an excellent time to add cross-country to our athletic offerings," said Isaac Bushey, Athletics Director. "I am excited with the level of talent and the enthusiasm for the sport in our local area and New York State. This is a very logical decision for the College and a tremendous opportunity for our students."

The return of cross country ends a 17-year hiatus from varsity competition at CCC. The Red Barons will compete in the Mid-State Conference and Region III of the NJCAA for the first time since 2001, where former Red Baron Becky Copp went to nationals for the women's team in the final year of competition.
